Hello again! This year on Valborg I went to a bonfire like I did last year, and this time it hadn't rained the day before, so the fire actually managed to light up! I should not have chosen that day to be the first day where I didn't wear my wool jacket, it was way too cold to be out in a hoodie and a jean jacket. But it was a nice time!
My cats turned 7 years old this week! Can't believe how big they've gotten already, they feel like little babies, still. Well, they are my babies.
I gave them some fancy wet food for the occassion.
Earlier this month me and Tofi finally planted a bunch of seeds in the garden. Carrots, wild strawberries, corn, everlasting flowers, some broccoli. Not banking on the broccoli though, I haven't had much luck with them the last few years.
Around the same time I decided to pick a little bouquet of flowers to put in my car, and I didn't notice til I'd picked it, but please look at this forget-me-not!
Isn't it cute? I actually made icons out of this photo and a few other flower photos over on livejournal dreamwidth. Along with some fandom icons. It's been fun making more icons again.
I've also started making stamps, which I've actually never made before. Speaking of icons, the icon I used for this entry was actually made for me by setsuntamew on the dreamwidth community vooglia. It's soooo cute! Honestly I've been using dreamwidth a lot more lately, it's been fun.
Here, have a few more flowers.
I actually counted how many cherry trees we have, cus it kinda feels like there's only a few, but we have a lot of small ones. 38 cherry trees, if memory serves. It's close to 40, at the very least. I guess I don't need to be that mad at the deer that ate the saplings (is that the English word for itty-bitty-baby trees? idk) last summer.
Comparatively, we only have two apple trees, both of which are on their last leg. We're gonna get a new tree to stick branches into from the smaller apple tree, cus those apples taste really good but I can't figure out what kind they are.
Both dad and grandma say they always called them 'lemon apples' but that's not it.
By the by, I finally finished my replay of Zero Escape: Virtue's Last Reward! I was so close to finished with the game when my save file corrupted a number of years ago that I didn't pick it up til years later, and now! I have finally finished it all! Every single route! And yeah, it's been one of my favourite games despite not having finished it 100% til now, but I was almost done with it last time, so who cares that I hadn't actually finished every single ending. The fact that I'd managed not to get spoiled at any point despite how long it's been since the game came out? Miracle.
God I love Clover. Alice x Clover, anyone?
As you may or may not remember, I started doing pole dancing earlier this year. I'm still doing it, and even though I'm by no means good at it, it's been fun. I can't do everything 100% cus of my hands, they make it a bit finicky, but last week I got to re-do the pole sit move for the first time in a while and! I can definitely say I've improved a lot there. The first time I could barely hold myself up, and had to cross my legs to stay up even that long, but this time? I could hold myself up purely by having the pole squeezed between my thighs for like 10 seconds! A vast improvement!
The move, for reference:
Lastly, this past week there's been a food festival going on. I didn't have the time to go during the week, but yesterday I finally got to go!
So for the first time in my life I've now tried a corn dog. Specifically, it was a Korean Cheesedog. It was absolutely delicious. I don't take well to too much fried food though, and the thing was massiv, so I was a bit nauseous for a while afterwards, but I'd say it was worth it, and I'd definitely have one again.
Next time I'll make sure to get away from the scent of food before and after though, so I don't get that food-smell nausea again.
I also bought pierogi that I brought home with me to have later for dinner, they were decent. I also bought some fudge that looked tasty, but it was... okay? It didn't taste bad but I probably wouldn't buy them again. I think I prefer marmelade candy when it comes to market candy, even to this fancy as fuck fudge.
I think I'm gonna go to bed and read (and hope that one of my cats wants to cuddle) now. Night night!
